Post Office announces new pick-up time
Recently, the US Postal Service in our area was assigned new pick up times for all out-going mail.
It used to be that the mail was delivered early in the morning to Gaylord, Winthrop and Gibbon and then that truck would come back in the afternoon to pick up mail and take to the Twin Cities.
That afternoon truck has now been eliminated. All mail being delivered and picked up is done about 7 a.m. in the morning.
So although our newspaper arrives at the post office about noon on Tuesdays, it is not picked up until Wednesday morning and heads to the Twin Cities.
We do drop off our papers at the Lafayette and Gibbon post offices on Tuesday afternoons and try to get it to Gaylord also.
But this change in the route may affect the day some of our out-of-town subscribers receive their papers.
