Lafayette City Council reviews current blight issues
by Doug Hanson
The City of Lafayette was divided into five sections so the four councilmen and the mayor could check those properties for blight. This is an annual review and Mayor Sandie Peterson stated, “I have to say that after we started doing this, I think the town looks a lot better.”
A total of ten properties were determined to need some clean up. Most either included overgrown grass, weeds and down tree branches or unlicensed vehicles parked in the yard. City Clerk Sandy Burger was asked to send a letter to these property owners with requirements for improvements to be made.
