Fossum receives KEYC Golden Apple Award

A crew from KEYC TV Mankato was in Gibbon at the new GFW school on Monday to interview and honor Sharon Fossum for her work with Spirit of the Season.
Every year Fossum, who started the program, heads the activity that collects and distributes presents, winter wear and meals to families that need some extra help during the holidays and throught the year.
Fossum was nominated by Dawn Fritz early in 2025 but KEYC held off with the award until the Christmas season got close.
During the interview, Fossum said that Spirit of the Season served around two dozen families this year.
The feature on KEYC is expected to air at 6 p.m. today (Wednesday).
