State bonding bill includes Lafayette’s grant

by Doug Hanson
With the State of Minnesota passing its bonding bill in May, the City of Lafayette received good news. The City’s RO Project received the full amount it was asking for. Originally, the City had asked for $3 million from the State. But with inflation over the past couple of years that request climbed to $3.087 million With the federal grant of $1 million received earlier, that brings the total allocated funds received to $4.087, which is the estimated cost of the project.
The Minnesota Management & Budget/Public Finance Authority will be contacting the city this month to start the funding process.
