Beverly Ann (Benson) Becker

Beverly Ann (Benson) Becker, age 80, of New Auburn, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Oak Terrace of Gaylord in Gaylord, Minnesota. Funeral Service was held Monday, March 29, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at High Island Cemetery in New Auburn, Minnesota. Clergy officiating was: Pastor Peter Adelsen and the organist was Yvonne Schuette. The congregational hymns were “How Great Thou Art”, “Just As I Am” and “Children of the Heavenly Father”. Honorary Casket Bearers were Beverly’s Great Grandchildren ~ JoLynn Becker, Bobbi Becker, Wyatt Becker, and Skyler Herd. Casket Bearers were Beverly’s Grandchildren ~ Brandon Becker, Dominic Becker, Laura Becker, Thomas Becker, Kelly Becker, Katie Woods, Cory Becker, Morgan Petersen, and Madison Petersen Beverly Ann (Benson) Becker was born on March 4, 1941, in Fergus Falls, Ottertail County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Cirella (Pieper) Benson. Beverly was baptized as an infant on April 5, 1941, by Rev. K. Heuchert and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 3, 1955, by Rev. Arthur Beck both at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. She received her education at various country schools and then graduated from Henning High School in Henning, Minnesota, with the Class of 1960. On July 10, 1965, Beverly was united in marriage to Halbert A. Becker by Rev. Paul Friedrich at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. Beverly and Halbert resided and farmed on the family farm in Penn Township until 1997, when they moved to New Auburn, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Brian, twins ~ LaDonna and Curtis, and Bonnie. Beverly and Halbert shared over 42 years of marriage until Halbert passed away on September 6, 2007. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Beverly worked as a cashier at Burger King in Glencoe, Minnesota, retiring in December of 2008. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, and a former member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township. As her ministry to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Beverly served on the Ladies Aid, sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Beverly enjoyed reading, going to the cabin up north, word search, watching Bonanza, The Lone Ranger and shows with John Wayne. Family was very important to her and she treasured the time spent with them and her friends. Beverly passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Oak Terrace of Gaylord in Gaylord, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years and 19 days. Blessed be her memory. Beverly is survived by her children Brian Becker and his wife, Wendy, of Brownton, MN, LaDonna Frauendienst and her husband, Jason, of New Auburn, MN, Curtis Becker and his wife, Shelly, of Gibbon, MN, Bonnie Petersen and her husband, Ralph, of St. Peter, MN. Grandchildren, Brandon Becker and his wife, Tara, Dominic Becker and his wife, Kayla, Laura Becker and her fiancé, Jordan Herd, Thomas Becker and his special friend, Allie Harpel, Kelly Becker, Katie Woods and her husband, Lucas, Cory Becker and his special friend, Kaitlyn Unger, Morgan Petersen and Madison Petersen. Great Grandchildren, JoLynn Becker, Bobbi Becker, Wyatt Becker, and Skyler Herd. Brother, Larry Benson and his wife, Terry, of Taylors Falls, MN; Sister, Victoria Nelson of Clitherall, MN; Sister-In-Law, Myrtice Becker of New Auburn, MN; plus nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
