Christmas in the Country offers many activities Saturday
It is time for Winthrop’s Christmas in the County, sponsored by the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce.
Saturday’s festivities will begin with mimosas and mistletoes. Participants will make a do-it-yourself door swag. Cost of the event is $25. It will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Tanker Bay. Pre-register for the event by contacting Morgan at 612-306-1739.
The Vendor Fair at Hahn’s Dining and Lounge will also begin at 10 a.m. and continue through 2 p.m.
It is then time for the big childrens’ event as Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive for their annual visit to Winthrop. They will be at Winthrop City Hall from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to talking with the Claus duo, there will be kids crafts, a hot chocolate bar and take-home cookie decorating.
Dinner and drinks will be served at the Winthrop Fire Barn from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The free-will donation dinner is sponsored by Winthrop Royalty and will also have a hot chocolate bar and a visit by the Grinch.
The day ends with reindeer games at Tanker Bay beginning at 7 p.m. Two-person teams will compete in pool, darts, bean bags and a few other games for a fun bar olympics evening.
