Gibbon sunflower field returns for 2025

The land is under new ownership and is pleased to be partnered with the Gibbon EDA for this adventure. The same field will now consist of rotating crops to ensure it will be planted every year. Last year it had a couple different field crops planted in it to allow it to replenish nutrients and take a break from sunflowers. The west half has been planted in field corn and the east half in a mix of Lemon Queen and Autumn Beauty sunflowers. They vary in height from five to nine feet and will bloom yellow, bronze, and red. The field will be open to the public when the sunflowers are in full bloom late August-early September. Props will be added as usual and a maze will be available to wander through when the field is open. Updates will be printed in the Winthrop News and follow Gibbon Sunflower Field on Facebook.
