Wersal receives 4-H Alumni Award

by Michael Mattison
Erin Wersal received the Sibley County 4-H Alumni Award joining Donavon Steele as Business Friend of 4-H and Kylie Messner as Outstanding Volunteer.
“I was pretty surprised,” Wersal said. “I knew I had been nominated but I guess I wasn’t expecting to get picked.”
The award goes to someone who was active in 4-H as a youth and continues to give back as an adult volunteer.
Wersal joined 4-H in fifth grade and remained until she aged out at 19 years old. She has been back with the program as all three of her children are involved in the organization when they started in Kindergarten.
“I really liked 4-H so I like doing it again as a parent,” she said.
