City of Gibbon discusses former elementary building

by Doug Hanson
City Administrator Dana Lietzau told the Gibbon City Council that GFW Superintendent Allen Berg asked about Gibbon’s interest in the old school building. There are actually three parcels involved. The lot that the school is on two parcels and then there is the parking lot to the west.
Greg Hartmann asked if it would be feasible for the City to put all of its offices in one building. He stated that the City Hall, police department, fire department and public works could all be in one location.
Mayor Steve Klukas felt that would solve one building, but open up three others. “I don’t see any use for that (elementary) building.”
Dave Theis stated that he felt that the City should help a business if they are interested in the building.
