Margaret Jean Witt

With heavy hearts we announce that Margaret Jean Witt, age 84, was called home to the warm embrace of the Lord on June 1, 2026.
Margaret was surrounded by family and love on her final journey home.
Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Pastor Bob Miner officiating.
Burial will take place in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Margaret was born on New Years Day, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Witt. Together they built a life that spanned more than 57 years of marriage.
She worked for more than 40 years as a laboratory technician in Minneapolis, eventually overseeing the practice’s laboratory operations. Margaret believed in hard work and approached both her career and family responsibilities with dedication, humility, and perseverance. Margaret was a generous heart to all people, plants and animals.
Margaret was preceded in death by both her parents, Lenore and Waldo; her sister Karen; brother, James; her brothers-in-law Charlie and Dean, and her husband Robert.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn (David), three daughters, Jennifer (Gary), Margaret and Eleanor (Steve) and seven grandchildren-Brian, Trisha, Jake, Naomi, Asher, Myles and Keiran- one great granddaughter, Charlotte, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, reading, cheering on the Twins and Vikings, playing cards, and collecting treasures she found along the way.
