Looft makes trip to D.C. to promote STREAMS project

by Michael Mattison
Winthrop City Administrator Michael Looft was among a delegation that went to Washington, D.C. recently to discuss wastewater and the STREAMS wastewater project in particular with elected officials in Congress.
In early April, Looft joined members from Minnesota Fresh Water, the Metropolitan Council which controls all wastewater in Minnesota’s metro area, Kimly-Horn the engineering company and four other wastewater experts.
They met with Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Sen. Tina Smith and their staffs, as well as U.S. Representatives minus Omar who would not schedule a meeting.
