NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2365 (GIBBON, FAIRFAX, AND WINTHROP PUBLIC SCHOOLS) McLeod, Nicollet, Renville and Sibley Counties, MINNESOTA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election has been called and will be held in and for Independent School District No. 2365 (Gibbon, Fairfax, and Winthrop Public Schools), McLeod, Nicollet, Renville and Sibley Counties, Minnesota on November 5, 2019, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the purpose to vote on the school district building bond questions (see sample ballot). The combined polling places for this election and the precincts served by those polling places shall be as follows: COMBINED POLLING PLACE – Gibbon Municipal Building, 985 1st Ave, Gibbon, MN: Main Room in Sibley County, Minnesota This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District No. 2365 located in the City of Gibbon; Moltke, Severance, Cornish and Grafton Townships in Sibley County, Minnesota; and West Newton and Lafayette Townships in Nicollet County, Minnesota. COMBINED POLLING PLACE – Fairfax Community Center, 300 Park Street South, Fairfax, MN: North Room in Renville County, Minnesota This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District No. 2365 located in the City of Fairfax; Wellington, Cairo, Bandon and Camp Townships in Renville County, Minnesota; and Ridgely Township in Nicollet County, Minnesota. COMBINED POLLING PLACE – Winthrop Community Hall, 305 North Main Street, Winthrop, MN: Second Floor in Sibley County, Minnesota This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District No. 2365 located in the City of Winthrop; Bismarck, Transit, and Alfsborg Townships in Sibley County, Minnesota; Penn and Round Grove Townships in McLeod County, Minnesota; and Bernadotte Township in Nicollet County, Minnesota. Any eligible voter residing in the school district may vote at said election at the polling place designated above for the location in which said voter resides. The polls for said election will be open between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the date of said election. Please note that this notice applies to School District elections not held in conjunction with statewide elections. Municipal or statewide elections will be held at the polling places previously established for such elections. If you wish for additional information on School District polling place locations, please contact the School District or the Sibley County Auditor-Treasurer. A voter must be registered to vote to be eligible to vote in this election. An unregistered individual may register to vote at the polling places on Election Day. NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENTS Notice is hereby given that the Winthrop City Council will meet at 7:00 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter on November 4th, 2019, at the Council Chambers, 305 N. Main Street, Winthrop, Minnesota, to consider the following proposed assessment for the stated purpose. Adoption by the Council of the proposed assessments may occur at the hearing. No interest shall be charged if the entire assessments are paid prior to certification to the County Auditor, by November 30, 2020. No appeal may be taken as to the amount of the assessments unless a written objection signed by the affected property owner is filed with the municipal clerk prior to the assessment hearing or presented to the presiding officer at the hearing. The owners may appeal the assessments to District Court pursuant to Minn. Stat. §429.081 by serving notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or Clerk of the City within 30 days after the adoption of the assessments and filing such notice with the District Court within 10 days after service upon the Mayor or Clerk. Independent School District  GFW Public Schools September 16th, 2019 Summary of regular school board meeting. Full text is available for public inspection at the GFW Superintendent’s Office. The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on September 16, 2019 at the Gibbon Primary School Board Chair, Klenk called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. ALSO present: Superintendent Seifert, Klenk, Vos, Odegard, Lee, Press, Kuehn Absent: Haas Vos moved with support from Lee to approve the agenda with the addition to the consent agenda of the resignation of Bill Alexander and FFA National Convention under informational items. Motion Carried. VISITOR RECOGNITION – None CONSENT AGENDA Vos moved with support from Odegard to approve the following consent agenda items with the addition of the resignation of Bill Alexander.
