Drinkall is new Winthrop councilor, Council discusses pay increase

How much is it worth for the people who are elected to make decisions for a city? It varies from town to town to quite large degrees. The Winthrop City Council brought up the topic at its regular January meeting on Monday, Jan. 6. Currently, members of the Council receive $1,000 a year and the Mayor $1,200 a year with each getting $20 for each special meeting. The last time the issue was addressed was 1995.
