Locals helping make masks for medical workers and day cares

One of the major concerns for health care workers and emergency medical personnel has been a lack of personal protective equipment such as masks and gowns during this first month of the Coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Elaine Malheim of Winthrop, as well as Marlene Weller of Gibbon, have been making masks to help in the area. “I am making face masks for people to use so that their fluids are self contained,” Malheim said.
