Leroy Setterman
LeRoy C. Setterman, age 86, of Gaylord, Minnesota, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Glencoe Regional Health in Glencoe, Minnesota. Funeral service were held on Friday, July 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord with interment in the church cemetery. Clergy officiating was Pastor Paul Kratzke. Organist was Curt Kahle. Eulogy was Mitchell Setterman. Congregational hymns sung were “Just As I Am”, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”, “Rock Of Ages”, and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Honorary casket bearers were Tara Wisch, Crystal Cooley, and Morgan Setterman. Casket bearers were Dave Schauer, Michael Schauer, Mitchell Setterman, Michael Cooley, Justin Wisch, and Ricky Fredin. LeRoy is survived by his: children, Ronald Setterman and his wife, Julie of Chaska, MN, Judy Schauer and her husband, David of Glencoe, MN, Cynthia Setterman and her friend, Rhonda Seado of Gaylord, MN, and Jeffry Setterman of Gaylord, MN; grandchildren, Tara (Justin) Wisch and their children, Ava, Maddox, Isaac, and Easton of Brownton, MN, Crystal (Michael) Cooley and their daughter, Norah of Carter Lake, IA, Michael (Kayla) Schauer of Glencoe, MN, Mitchell (Jenny) Setterman of Side Lake, MN, and Morgan Setterman of Rochelle, IL; sister, Margaret Lueck; siblings-in-laws, Marvel Fredin, Clifford (Sharon) Franke, Beverly (Duane) Hahn, Darlene Ernst and special friend Cy, Marvin Jr. (Phyllis) Franke, Jerry (Yvonne) Franke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Sophie Setterman; wife, Betty Setterman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Fern Franke; brother-in-law, Nelford Fredin; step brother-in-law, Morris (Marion) Guemmer; niece, Amy Ernst; and nephew, Bryan Hahn. LeRoy Charles Setterman was born on July 4, 1935, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was the son of Edwin and Sophie (Guemmer) Setterman. LeRoy was baptized as an infant on July 28, 1935, in New Ulm, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 10, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He received his education at Immanuel Lutheran School in Gaylord. On January 28, 1955, LeRoy was united in marriage to Betty Franke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gaylord. LeRoy and Betty shared 57 years of marriage and were blessed with four children. LeRoy was employed at Abraham Feed Service, City of Gaylord, Sibley County Highway Department in Highway Maintenance, and Alvin Bartels Truckline. LeRoy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. LeRoy enjoyed fishing, going for drives, driving semi and visiting with friends. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. When he needed assistance with his daily care, LeRoy became a resident of GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe.
