Mayors discuss state of their cities

Winthrop

2021 has been a year of change! Needless to say Covid 19 has made lots of changes in our everyday lives and for some at work also. At the City level, we make adjustments as needed and continue to move forward. I can’t thank the City employees enough for all they have done this past year. It has been a year of change and adjustments for the employees as the Council has worked their way through the process of hiring a new City Administrator. I want to thank Melissa and Matthew for stepping up and keeping the City office up and running smoothly after Jenny Palmer left at the end of July. I also want to thank Jenny for all her years of dedicated service to the City. They will be big shoes to fill! Speaking of filling shoes, I am excited and happy to have Michael Looft as our new City Administrator.

Gibbon

Mayor Steve Klukas likes where the City of Gibbon is heading. “Financially, we are fine,” he said. “We have a very good crew working for the city. We have a great police department. It’s just a matter of trying to maneuver as is.”
