The Lodge of Winthrop going strong, addressing issues after nursing home closure

by Michael Mattison
The Lodge of Winthrop assisted living facility is near capacity but it is addressing issues caused by the closing of Good Samaritan Society—Winthrop last year.
The Lodge is a 16-apartment facility and Kelsey Odegard said that just one unit is currently open. “It is open immediately if someone wants it,” she said.
The facility is owned by Community Asset Foundation and managed by Good Samaritan Society. They own five lodges in Minnesota.
The apartments have a living room, bedroom, private bath with shower and small kitchenette which includes a refrigerator and microwave.
