by Michael Mattison
Members of the Winthrop City Council were informed of a substantial increase in the proposed Second Street project which is projected to begin this summer.
At its regular April meeting, ISG’s Bryan Petzel informed the City Council that the bid estimate for the project now stood at over $7.8 million, an increase from the $4.8 million which was estimated in the feasibility study.
Petzel stated that some of the items were not included in the feasibility study and other things have changed since the study was given to the Council.
