GFW Community Ed offers gymnastics

by Maggie Buettner
Cheryl MacFarlane started the GFW Community Ed Gymnastics program in January of 2011, 13 years with GFW. She has been coaching gymnastics for 33 years. “I became interested when my oldest daughter joined a rec program that was in need of help. I started helping with that and learned so much about gymnastics, I already loved working with kids, so that part was easy,” she stated. “My daughter moved on to a competitive gym and I moved with her. I learned even more there but, I love working with younger kids and teaching the basic skills.” She herself doesn’t have a favorite event but has taught everything and watches everything.
