Pheasants released in honor of Majeski

For the past six years, the family of Nolan Majeski have been releasing pheasants in his memory. The tradition takes place in October with the family and the men who served as pallbearers getting together and releasing them near the Tom Frank farm. Shortly before the event, they were informed that the order wouldn’t be able to be filled but Nick, Nolan’s brother, explained what they were doing and they found a way to fill the order. Lynn, Nolan’s mother, said these were the best birds they have released. Bands are placed on the legs of the birds with Nolan’s date of passing along with a telephone number. They have received some calls from hunters throughout the year. A total of 14 people participated in the event this years.
