CALL TO ORDER
The regular board meeting of the GFW Public School Board was held on June 17, 2024 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Chair Merkel called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.
ALSO present: Superintendent Dr. Horton, Tech Werner, Building, Turtle, Miller, Student & Community Programs Director Schiro, Briese, Grosam, Principal Thompson, Press Hanson, Principal Jacobson, Nurse Bruns, Grounds & Safety Weir, Stehr, Community Members.

Turtle moved with support from Briese to approve the agenda. 5/1 Vote Motion Carried.
CONSENT AGENDA
Briese moved with support from Stehr to approve the following consent agenda. 4/2 vote Motion Carried.

Grosam moved with support from Miller to approve the PreK-12 Bids. Motion Carried.
Non-Represented Exempt Employee Work Guidelines
Grosam moved with support from Miller to approve the Non-Represented Exempt Employee Work Guidelines. Motion Carried.
Non-Represented Hourly Employee Work Guidelines
Miller moved with support from Turtle to approve the Non-Represented Hourly Employee Work Guidelines. Motion Carried.
Social Studies Curriculum
Miller moved with support from Grosam to approve the Social Studies Curriculum. Motion Carried.
FY25 Budget
Grosam moved with support from Miller to table the FY 25 Budget on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.at a Special Meeting. 5/1 Vote Motion Carried.
Fuel and Milk/Juice Bids – The district needs to call for bids on fuel and milk/juice. The bids will be opened on Thursday, July 16, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the District Office.
Miller moved with support from Grosam to approve go out for bid for Fuel and Milk/Juice. Motion Carried.
2024-2025 GFW Staff and School Board Rates
Briese moved with support from Turtle to approve the 2024-2025 GFW Staff and School Board Rates. Motion Carried.

Resolution: Approval of Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) – The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requires that school districts annually designate an Identified Official with Authority to comply with State Access Control Security Standard 1.), which states that all user access rights to Minnesota state systems must be reviewed and recertified at least annually. The Identified Official with Authority will assign job duties and authorize external user’s access to MDE secure systems for their local education agency (LEA). It is recommended the board authorize Jeff Horton to act as the Identified Official with Authority for GFW 2365-01.
Grosam moved with support from Stehr to approve the Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) as Jeff Horton.

Resolution: Acceptance of Donations
Miller moved with support from Tur to accept the donation of a Forklift from the Thunderbird Foundation: AEM/Farmers Legacy for HS CTE Classes.

Special School Board Meeting — June 25, 2024 — 6:00pm
1. Call to Order
Board Chair Merkel called the Special Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Approval of Agenda Items
Briese moved with support from Miller to approve the agenda. Motion Carried.
3. Superintendent Search
The board approved SCSC to lead the superintendent search. The new superintendent contract will be approved at the regular board meeting, July 15, 2024.
4. Superintendent Transition Plan
Turtle moved with support from Grosam to approve the superintendent’s transition plan including Dr. Horton continuing as superintendent through July 15, 2024. The new superintendent will start July 16, 2024. Also to keep Dr. Horton on for 15 months to lead the PreK building project and executive coaching. Start date July 16, 2024 ending September 30, 2025. Motion Carried.
5. Signatory Authorization
Miller moved with support from Stehr to approve CFO Heine as the signing authority for GFW Public Schools. Motion Carried.
6. FY25 Budget
Miller moved with support from Turtle to approve the FY25 Budget. Motion Carried.
7. Adjournment
Grosam moved with support from Miller to adjourn the meeting at 9:09 p.m. Motion Carried.
