Hacker is the new police officer in Gibbon

by Maggie Buettner
The City of Gibbon recently hired a new full-time police officer who happens to know the area pretty well. Nick Hacker grew up on a hog farm about four miles west of Lafayette. He attended Central Lakes College in Brainerd for law enforcement training. He went to college to be a conservation officer with the Minnesota DNR but changed his focus to deputy or police officer training.
“I worked for Sibley County in the jail as a Corrections Officer right after college in 2005,” Nick stated. “I then went on to work for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in Grand Marais for about four years, then on to Chief of Police in Lamberton for about eight years.”
