Burns receives American FFA Degree

by Michael Mattison
Andrew Burns recently received the highest degree in the FFA when he was presented the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention in October.
Burns explained that the American Degree is a compilation of all the years of a person’s time in the FFA. It’s takes into account the student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience project and community service hours completed as well as participation in events throughout a person’s FFA career.
He received the Degree on October 26 in Indianapolis. At the Saturday morning degree ceremony, the recipients are announced each state at a time. They get their photos taken and then go out on stage and receive congratulatory handshakes from the National FFA President and Advisor.
