Messerli state runner-up in Voice of Democracy

Eden Messerli went from the local level all the way to being a runner-up at the state level in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy scholarship program.
Competition started at the Post level and Messerli was the winner for Fairfax which meant she moved on to District competition.
The District Banquet was held in Redwood Falls at its VFW Post on January 4. She received first place there and read her essay before those in attendance. That win meant she was one of nine finalists for the State competition.
