Bruns family honored at Alzheimer’s event

The family of Barb Bruns was named the honorary family at the Walk To End Alzheimer’s Greater Mankato event at Spring Lake Park in North Mankato on October 5.
The Bruns family started fundraising for Alzheimer’s after Barb was diagnosed in 2015.
“With Alzheimer’s there is no cure so you leave there lost,” Dana Lietzau said. “My sister (Beth) and I started getting involved with the Alzheimer’s Association just because we didn’t know where to turn. They helped us out with a lot of tools.” They went to conferences and they travel to Washington D.C. to advocate.
“We believe that it is important for us to continue to fight for the others,” she said.
