Robins singing Christmas cheer with the elves

During the holiday season, music is prominent in many memories. Sometimes a song brings back a favorite memory or a specific carol sparks a memory of a favorite loved one. Last weekend the Bank, with Whit Wort Brewery in Gibbon, hosted the 3rd Annual Merry Folk and Christmas Concert. The headliners included Gibbon’s own Kris and Abby Robin. Other performers included David, Lark Brown, Karl Grant, Megan Schmidt, Rylie Lutgen, Sam Gatton and Dustin Meilke in front of a standing room only crowd.
Kris and Abby met twenty years ago in the Mankato music scene. Both were hosts for an open microphone night. They explained “while neither of us had a lot of music background in school or church, we were passionate about writing and performing. We found we were good together, that’s what people would tell us anyways.”
