Bowen benefit recipient at Jam the Gym

by Maggie Buettner
On Friday, March 27th, GFW will be hosting the Tim Orth Foundation Jam the Gym Night. One of the recipients being recognized at the event is Bowen Woods, infant son of Lucas and Katie (Becker) Woods.
Bowen was born in January with a diagnosis of clubfoot but the Woods knew of it before then. Katie stated “We found out about Bowen’s bilateral Clubfoot at our 20-week ultrasound. The ultrasound tech had thought she had seen it, she wasn’t giving him a clear picture. So, we then went to maternal fetal medicine in the Cities where we had some repeat ultrasounds done and they confirmed he had bilateral Clubfoot. It is hereditary but there is no family history on either side of our families so our case is considered idiopathic. Meaning it just occurred spontaneously.” According to the Mayo Clinic, it can occur in up to 1 in 1,000 babies.
