GFW students compete in visual arts

The MSHSL Visual Arts Competition Section 2A was held Wednesday, April 8, at the high school in Montgomery. GFW had eight artworks from seven students. One student was unable to make the event, but the rest of the students were able to enjoy the event, listening to two artist speakers and looking at student work made by other schools. All students who participated earned awards of Excellent or Superior ranking from the judges. On top of that, junior Jon Ramirez was awarded one of the 12 Spotlight Awards for his computer based artwork and qualified for the State Festival at Wayzata High School. The spotlight artworks were chosen from over 100 artworks in the Section which is very impressive. Unfortunately, he will not be able to attend the festival.
