Thunderbirds advance to Sub-Section finals

With a double digit victory over BOLD in the quarterfinals and an overtime win over Sleepy Eye in the semifinals, the GFW Thunderbird boys basketball team earned a spot in the Sub-Section championship against Lester Prairie. The game was contested Monday evening in St. Peter.
BOLD kept the game tight throughout the first three quarters of the game before the T-Birds would break it open.
GFW got off to a quick start, scoring the first seven points of the game with Alex Johnson putting in two buckets in the post and Cole Jacobson knocking down a three-pointer. But with 8:32 left in the first half, BOLD had turned it around and held a 20-15 lead over the T-Birds.
