Mayer Lutheran hands GFW a Homecoming loss

Two second half scores made the game close but the GFW Thunderbird football team lost on Homecoming night 21-16 to Mayer Lutheran.
After an opening drive that saw the T-Birds record three first downs but stall out at the 18-yard line, not much would happen for either team in the first quarter.
Mayer Lutheran would take its first drive of the second quarter 77 yards on 13 plays for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
