by Maggie Buettner The Gibbon Reds started their weekend play in Fairfax on Friday against the Cardinals who are new to the Tomahawk Conference. Starting pitcher was Nolan Hurias and he had five hits, five strikeouts, and two walks in seven innings. Cody Loverude finished the game with six strikeouts and three walks. The game was pretty quiet with Cardinals scoring the first run in the third inning. The Reds waited until the ninth inning to score three runs off of singles from Justin Schwecke, Jason Berger, Ethan Schwarzrock, and a double from Cody Nachreiner. The Reds had a total of ten hits in the game and won 3 – 1.
