Mark Henningson

Mark R. Henningson, age 44, of Cornish Township, rural Winthrop, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Funeral service were held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Eidskog Cemetery in Otrey Township, rural Ortonville, Minnesota. Clergy officiating was Pastor Bob Miner. Organist was Julie Trebelhorn. Congregational hymns sung were “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket bearers were Mike Burns, Ross Johnson, Randy Trebelhorn, Justin Parrott, Eric Sjogren, and Jed Trebelhorn. Mark is survived by his: wife, Jodi Henningson of Winthrop, MN; children, Alexis, Addison, and Asher Henningson of Winthrop, MN; parents, Milt and Linda Henningson of Winthrop, MN; brother, Mike Henningson of Winthrop, MN; sisters, Melissa Boman and her husband, Bryce of Annandale, MN, Marci Henningson of Winthrop, MN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Jeanette DeVlaeminck of Winthrop, MN; brothers-in-law, Mike DeVlaeminck and his wife, Kathy of Plato, MN, Steve DeVlaeminck of Ogilvie, MN, Scott DeVlaeminck and his wife, Nena of Fairfax, MN; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Verna Stanley, Ray and Fran Henningson; brother, Mitchell Henningson; sister-in-law, Jerri Neudecker; nephew, Ryan Neudecker; uncle, Jim Carlson; and special friends, Seth Sondrol and Nolan Majeski. Mark Robert Henningson was born on May 10, 1978, at the Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Minnesota. He was the son of Milton and Linda (Stanley) Henningson. Mark was baptized at Bismarck Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop, Minnesota. He received his education in Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop School, and was a graduate with the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop High School class of 1996. On May 1, 2004, Mark was united in marriage to Jodi DeVlaeminck at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. This marriage was blessed with three beautiful children, Alexis, Addison, and Asher. Mark and Jodi resided in Winthrop. They shared 18 years of marriage. Mark worked for Bussler and Son Construction in Winthrop since high school. He recently was in the process of following in his dad’s footsteps and starting his own drywall company. Mark had an unbelievable talent in carpentry and a passion for building custom cabinetry. He could make any house a beautiful home and he made sure to teach his children his many skills along the way. Mark was a kind and loving person who always had a smirk on his face and a comment that was bound to make you laugh. His family and many friends meant the world to him, and he couldn’t wait to plan the next get together, vacation, or camping trip, and invite as many as he could. Mark was an avid hunter and cherished the time he was able to hunt waterfowl or deer with his family. His proudest moments were being with his girls when they got their first deer, and he couldn’t wait to get his little boy out there. Mark was the best husband, dad, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed for his huge heart and kind soul. Mark passed away, due to complications that arose from diabetes, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 44 years. Blessed be his memory.
