Firebirds roll to a 42-22 win over MCW

The GFW Firebirds football team traveled to Martin County West Friday and left with a 42-22 victory.
It didn’t take the Firebirds long to get things going as they scored on the second play from scrimmage. Owen Swenson found Matthew Lee for a 23-yard pass that set up a 35-yard touchdown run by Garrett Stegeman. Swenson’s two-point conversion gave GFW an 8-0 lead.
MCW struck right back with a 7-play, 55-yard drive, culminating in a 19-yard touchdown pass to tie the score at 8-8.
