In a busy week for the GFW Firebirds boys basketball team, the Firebirds would get wins at the beginning and the end of the week.
GFW started things off with a home victory over Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 74-55. The Firebirds then traveled to Springfield for an 84-45 loss before coming back home to defeat Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 77-39.
GFW would score the first eight points of the game against St. Mary’s. Kaden Rieke got things going with a three-pointer and then came up with a steal, layup and free throw. Matthew Lee finished the run with a layup off a Luke Bastian assist.
