BLHS knocks out Firebirds from volleyball playoffs

Facing the top seed in the Section, the GFW Firebird volleyball team lost in straight sets to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Steward 25-12, 25-8 and 25-21.
A couple of violations by BLHS and kills by Kora Schwarzrock and Lauren Schafer had the Firebirds tied in the first set at 4-4 but BLHS rattled off the next eight points for a 12-4 lead and went on to an easy win.
Despite a couple of kills from Ella Nachreiner in the second set that had GFW trailing 10-7, BLHS would allow just one more point in the set to take a 2-0 set lead.
