T-Birds post big win over Cathedral

The GFW Thunderbird boys basketball team had three games on the schedule last week. They started with an 86-76 loss to Nicollet on Monday, traveled to New Ulm Cathedral for a 64-41 victory and then lost to Wabasso at home 76-65.
The T-Birds jumped out to a quick lead against NUC, scoring the first 11 points of the game. Cole Jacobson and Owen Swenson hit from long range, Jacobson added two free throws and then Easton Taylor canned a bomb for an 11-0 lead.
Up 15-8, Jacobson hit one of two free throws and then got a rebound and threw a three-quarter court pass to Clayton Karg for a fast-break layup. Karg added two free throws for a 20-8 lead.
