Thunderbirds win first game of Section Tournament

Thanks to the weather, the GFW Thunderbird softball team played three games on Thursday before getting knocked out of the Section Tournament.
The T-Birds opened the Tournament with an 11-9 win over Mayer Lutheran. Both teams would score a run in the first. Micahl Nachreiner singled, moved to third on a pair of wild pitches and scored on a Lauren Schafer ground out.
The T-Birds would added single runs in the second and third to go up 3-1. Maddy Lee and Molly Johnson led off the inning with walks. A sacrifice bunt by Kailynn Hubred moved the runners up and Lee scored on a Megan Hacker sacrifice fly in the second.
